We moved from Germany to Australia with GMS. Sales Lady was helpful until we signed the contract and paid the money. On the day of the move the shipping container needed to get upgraded - We had to pay and extra one third of the overall cost on top, then the insurance was also on top - another 5th of the price and custom clearance in Australia was another 10th of the price extra.
The stress was unbelievable considering that this was an all inclusive service. Although sounding lovely and the price was initially great, don't be fooled. The company takes you for a ride and do not care about the stresses of moving.
To end the sad song, a number of our items arrived broken.

I have dealt with a dozen moving companies so far and GMS is the worst by a fair margin (full container France-USA). The salesperson I deal with forgot to follow up on my import docs (despite my calls/emails) so they left my furniture rot in their warehouse for weeks. Rather than acknowledge their mistake and at least apologize, the customer support manager sent me a copy of their T&C alongside a pompous email stating that I have no recourse.
Cynical, unprofessional, careless and pedantic beyond belief.

I booked my move from France to Canada with GMS on a recommendation. Initial contact was good and seemed very professional. However, due to unforeseen circumstances I had to cancel my move. I had paid in full but gave more than the required 10 working days notice for a full refund. It has now been five weeks since the cancellation and I’m still waiting for my refund! The contact I have tells me that she has asked the accounts department to inform me when I should receive my money but I have heard nothing from them!! Not at all happy with this company!

My goods were picked up in Berlin on the 22.9 22 ,the packing service were 2 Hungarians with no english or german language knowledge which only put a bit of packing tape on our prepacked boxes .Our valuable palisander sideboard was not packed at all, only a blanket on top. Since then, I have been in contact with the companymanytimes.I never got contacted by the company,I always had to chase them . The standard answer is only "We will enquire with the manager.It is now 4 months. The only thing which has changed is that it has been escalated from enquirery to urgent enquirery and that the manager working from Rotterdam has been cc'd. I have written to her (Yasmin Wright) directly but I havent heard back. I am ready now to take legal action and would like to know from other costumers if anybody has done that. Move size: 1 Bedroom Flat Service cost: €5000

Move from France to Canada January 2021. The collection team brought flimsy used cardboard boxes and did not pack anything for shipment in a container (no packing material used, items loosely put in boxes). I started packing things myself with my own supplies from a previous move, while they loaded the truck. None of my goods were labelled or identifiable when put into their truck despite my concerns. When they left I was worried that the whole company was a scam, the collection being so unprofessional.

The GMS Office did repack my items and sent me photos of proper boxes, but there was no guarantee all of my belongings were shipped. Initial phone contacts with the office were very professional.

I was most disappointed to have lost my most treasured possessions.

Also prior to collection I had been asked via email if any people at the home vulnerable to COVID-19 (yes), but the drivers had to be persuaded to use masks.

Move size: Studio flat Service cost: £1575

This moving services company doesn’t even deserve one star!! Do NOT use this company. They will bleed you dry of all your money with hidden fees and delays of transit which we have no control over. Poor communication and never updated about the progress of our items from Ireland to USA. The person managing our move (Richard Glass) was always out on leave and never responded or kept us up to date with anything unless he was asking for more money. There are way better moving companies out there so save yourself money and stress and go with another company. Now they are holding our belongings for ransom unless we pay another 50% on top of what we’ve already paid. They are liars and do not deserve any business from anyone!!!

Strongly not recommended. They have an extremely "fraudulent" way of doing things. The way they pack is ridiculous, creating extra volume which they then charge very expensive for. They lost two packages of my moving and - after months in which they completed their investigation - they released that they had lost two packages, and that in the absence of my private insurance, they would have returned 40 £, totally regardless of the value of the things contained in the two boxes who have lost. They practically do not refund you even the cost of the volume occupied by the boxes that have not arrived at their destination. Stay away from this company.

International move from southern Italy to Cape Town RSA on 19th October 2021.

I am a 69 year old pensioner and the have all my history in boxes.

Up front conversations and packing were good. Price seem reasonable at the time. I was given an estimate of between 6 weeks and 3 months for my belongings to arrive in RSA. Then everything went downhill.

It is now over 6 months and my belongings are still in Rotterdam and GMS will give me no indication of when or even if they will leave Europe. They don't answer my emails unless I spend a fortune in phone calls chasing them.

Do I have to spend even more nowjust to get back what I own. And will I get it all back undamaged?
